Posada Sta.María

We stayed here for three nights in March 2023 and the people there were so lovely (Miguel - You are the best!). It’s a great place in a great location, I would definitely recommend!

My favorite place to stay in Oaxaca. Each room is tastefully arranged, with a small desk and lamp. The lower room has a private patio and there are flowers and plants all over the courtyard. The upper rooms open to a walkway overlooking the central patio. Bibiana is always welcoming, even after a long absence, and takes great care of her guests. The traditional breakfasts are simple, but delicious and filling. It’s right on Ave. Juarez, which means that there is a bus right in front to take you anywhere into the central city and beyond. Park Llano is across the street and provides a shady place to stroll or sit.

This small, family-run posada is located on the edge of the Centro and across the street from El Llano, a large, green, and very pleasant neighborhood park. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, and the family that runs the posada are very friendly (in English or Spanish). It's a great place to be close to Santo Domingo, etc., but avoid the crowds. El Llano is great for street food, people watching, exercising, and generally experiencing neighborhood life. We stayed in February 2022 and found the posada to be a great value. It was considerably less expensive than other places we looked at but better located. Highly recommended for a quiet "authentic" experience. It is not a place for people who want to party.

I spent 12 days at the Posada Santa Maria... The location is great and the rooms are spotless. La Señora Bibiana is a wonderful hostess, very well organized, gracious, and eager to make you feel at home. Breakfast changes every day and is a nice opportunity to meet the other guests around the dining room table. Definitively a great value!

This place is nothing short of a gem in Oaxaca city. The location is great, right off Llano park. The rooms are wonderful, we loved having a desk and a small couch, in addition to a lot of storage space in a large closet and shelving in the bathroom. The bed and linens were very comfortable. The lighting and decor is perfect. But what really makes this place one of our favorites in the world is the above-and-beyond hospitality of the family who runs it. They became very special to us during our stay. We will definitely be back to Oaxaca, and we'd stay no where else. We more than loved our stay here.

No conoci las habitaciones, solo fui a desayunar, pero el desayuno sabía muy bien, eso sí la porción es muy pequeña por el costo, desayuné chilaquiles de tomate.

Love this place! Perfectly situated in front of "El Llano" park it also holds one of the best breakfasts in Oaxaca

The perfect place for us! In the center of town, right across from a super nice, lively park. Comfortable rooms. But the heart and soul of this place is the wonderful family that runs it, they’re simply the best.
